Foursomes 2026

Foursomes 2026

It’s the event where your friendships can become tested…….really tested!  Whilst some found the going tough, Rory McKinney and Nate Johnson posted a very fine 110 (2 over) score to win the men’s event by 3 shots.  Cath Raes and Terri Davies combined to take out the lady’s comp by one shot.  In one of the few gross events we have there was some great competition by our better golfers across the board.

In the mixed nett competition Paul Frediani and Travis Gillard scraped past Judy Herbery and Shirley Hicks by half a shot with these two groups being the only teams to break handicap in the entire field, showing how hard the format is.

Well played all.

Nate stars at WA State Amateur

Nate stars at WA State Amateur

Nate Johnson has finished runner up in the State Amateur taking the final to the 35th hole before going down 3/1.   Despite going 3 down after the opening hole in the afternoon round, Nate dragged it back to just 1 after 22 but in the end, The Vines Adam Baillie was a little too strong.  At just 17 and mixing it with the best in the state he has done himself and the club proud and we congratulate him on an amazing performance.

Also qualifying for the top 32 after the strokeplay were Lachie Hall, Zach Nayar, George Barclay and Ronan Nayer with Ronan progressing to the round of 16.

In the ladies, Sienna McCulloch, and Emmaline Curic defied their years and made the round of 16 with Sienna making it to the quarter finals.

Congratulations to all that played and to those that made it through to the pinnacle of amateur golf in this state.    These results for those representing our club, shows that the commitment to juniors and the reintroduction of the junior academy, underpins the ongoing success of Joondalup.
